Product Description
AMSOIL Saber Professional (ATP) and Outboard (ATO) Synthetic
100:1 Pre-Mix 2-Cycle Oils are formulated with exclusive AMSOIL
synthetic base oils and premium additives. Designed for lean
mix ratios in two-cycle motors, Saber 2-Cycle Oils have excellent
lubricity and cleanliness properties, controlling friction
and preventing wear, plug fouling, ring sticking and exhaust
port blocking. AMSOIL Synthetic 100:1 2-Cycle Oils have been
protecting and providing improved performance in two-cycle
motors since 1973.
Saber Professional
Saber Professional (ATP) is specifically designed for small
engines including, but not limited to, chain saws, lawn
equipment, blowers, chop saws, pumps, scooters and go-carts.
It is also very good for use in motorcycles, snowmobiles,
ATVs, jet boats and personal watercraft. Saber Professional
is formulated with high temperature detergent additives
that prevent hard carbon deposits from forming in these
hot operating motors. Saber Professional is “smokeless”
and delivers as much as 30 percent fewer emissions at 100:1 mix
ratios than oils mixed at 50:1. Equipment operators subjected
to smoke and fumes will benefit from these low emission properties.
Because one mix ratio satisfies multiple pieces of equipment,
Saber Professional eliminates mix ratio confusion. Saber
Professional is recommended for pre-mix where ISO-L-EGD,
JASO FC or API TC is specified.
Saber Outboard
Saber Outboard (ATO) is specifically designed for outboard
motors. It is also very good for personal watercraft, jet
boats, motorcycles, snowmobiles and ATVs. Saber Outboard
contains a heavy dose of lower temperature dispersant additives
that excel at preventing varnish and deposits from forming
in water-cooled motors. Saber Outboard is a very low smoke,
low odor, low toxicity product that produces as much as
30 percent fewer emissions at 100:1 mix ratios than oils
mixed at 50:1. It is ideal for trolling motors as it prevents
“oil loading” and plug fouling for rapid throttle response.
Operators and the environment benefit from the use of Saber
Outboard. It is recommended for pre-mix use where TC-W3
or API TC is specified.
Applications
AMSOIL Saber 100:1 2-Cycle Oils are recommended for 100:1
mix ratios in normal service and 50:1 to 80:1 mix ratios
in severe service applications such as commercial equipment
operations and racing.

Peter Virgona of Merrick, NY is a self-proclaimed oil enthusiast.
“I do a great deal of reading and research, always looking for the best oil,”
Virgona said. “The more I read the more I realized AMSOIL was the best ‘true’

Virgona drives a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria with nearly 98,000 miles on the engine.
He switched from Mobil 1 to AMSOIL 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil.
“The difference was immediate and signifi - cant,” Virgona said. “The idle
became much smoother. There are times I can’t tell if the car is running. It
also became much more responsive to the gas pedal, so much more responsive my
wife asked me what I did to the car.”
He has owned the car for almost nine years. “Not surprisingly, the gas mileage
improved signifi cantly,” he said. “This car always averaged 15 mpg going back
and forth from work. It now averages 16.5 mpg. That’s a 10 percent increase.
I truly didn’t expect such a big change.”
He waited to report his fi ndings until after he had driven the car at least
5,000 miles “to confi rm that the numbers are average and not just a fl uke.”
Virgona also installed AMSOIL 5W-30 in his sister-in-law’s 1996 Dodge Caravan
with a 3.0 litre V6 engine. She had always used conventional motor oil with
regular oil changes every 3,000 miles, Virgona said.
“Nonetheless, she had a signifi cant amount of sludge that was obvious under
the oil cap,” he said. “She also experienced a very loud lifter noise that would
come and go with the engine either hot or cold. Presumably the sludge was affecting
the oil circulation to the lifters.”
Oil consumption in the van was increasing, using about one quart every 1,500
to 2,000 miles.
“I switched her to AMSOIL and put in a new fi lter,” Virgona said. “Within
1,000 miles the lifter noise was all but gone. By 3,000 miles, virtually all
the sludge was gone. I drained and refi lled the oil a second time with AMSOIL
5W-30. The oil consumption is now down to one quart every 3,000 miles, with
no more lifter noise. And, except for a little yellow varnish, all the sludge
is gone.
“I am very happy with AMSOIL and plan to use it from now on. I recommend it
to anyone who wants a great synthetic oil.”
Virgona just had a case shipped to his father-in-law in Florida because he
believes in AMSOIL products, he said, and wants others to experience their benefi
