PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION AMSOIL DC Synthetic
Compressor Oils are long-life, premium compressor
lubricants based on novel, proprietary technology.
They improve compressor efficiency and extend
drain intervals in reciprocating (piston)
compressors and vacuum pumps where high discharge
temperatures or carbon build-up are a concern.
AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor
Oils incorporate the highest quality,
thermally-stable synthetic esters fortified with
premium non-detergent, ashless additives for
maximum protection at high temperatures and
pressures where petroleum lubricants typically
break down.
Improves Compressor
Efficiency AMSOIL DC Synthetic
Compressor Oils are designed to prevent hard
carbon deposits on valves for greatly improved
compressor efficiency. Valve maintenance is
extended and recompression is virtually
eliminated. Compressor efficiency is improved,
heat is reduced and money is saved through lower
electrical energy consumption.
Reduces
Wear Unlike other compressor oils,
AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor Oils are anti-wear
fortified. They help reduce wear in high contact
regions for increased compressor life and
efficiency.
Extends Oil
Life AMSOIL DC Series Compressor Oils
combine the inherent oxidation resistance of
synthetic esters with highly potent oxidation
inhibitors. They last several times longer than
petroleum oils, effectively reducing maintenance
and waste oil disposal costs.
Reduced Oil
Consumption The low volatility, highly
polar nature of AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor
Oils reduces the amount of oil needed for cylinder
lubrication compared to petroleum oils. Drip feed
rates can be lowered, downstream oil is minimized
and money is saved on make-up oil.
Resists Water
Contamination Water from condensation
builds up in compressors that can cause oil/water
emulsions, environmental discharge hazards and
rust. AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor Oils readily
separate from water, and they are anti-rust
fortified. Water can be easily drained off for
simplified environmental discharge and increased
oil life.
Safety
Advantage AMSOIL DC Synthetic
Compressor Oils are ashless, high flash point
formulations with very low carbon-forming
tendencies that minimize the incidence of
ignition-promoting “hot spots.” While DC Synthetic
Compressor Oils can provide improved fire safety,
they cannot be considered non-flammable.
APPLICATION
RECOMMENDATION The appropriate
viscosity of AMSOIL DC Synthetic Compressor Oil is
recommended for use in rotary vane and
reciprocating compressors and vacuum pumps. Drain
intervals of 8,000 hours or more can be expected
under normal operation. This is subject to
operating conditions and maintenance practices.
Monitoring by oil analysis is recommended.
Compatibility DC
Synthetic Compressor Oils are compatible with
petroleum and most other synthetic-based
lubricants (not compatible with polyalkylene
glycol or silicone oils). For best performance,
AMSOIL recommends the compressor be thoroughly
drained and cleaned if needed prior to the
installation of DC Synthetic Compressor Oils. If
carbon deposits are present on the internal
components, it is recommended they be removed
following the manufacturer recommendations. For
the first 500 hours of operation, check the
filters regularly and clean or replace as
necessary.

Testimonials
|
Peter Virgona of Merrick, NY is a self-proclaimed oil enthusiast.
“I do a great deal of reading and research, always looking for the best oil,”
Virgona said. “The more I read the more I realized AMSOIL was the best ‘true’
synthetic I could buy. After using Mobil 1 since 1986, I made the switch to
AMSOIL.”
Virgona drives a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria with nearly 98,000 miles on the engine.
He switched from Mobil 1 to AMSOIL 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil.
“The difference was immediate and signifi - cant,” Virgona said. “The idle
became much smoother. There are times I can’t tell if the car is running. It
also became much more responsive to the gas pedal, so much more responsive my
wife asked me what I did to the car.”
He has owned the car for almost nine years. “Not surprisingly, the gas mileage
improved signifi cantly,” he said. “This car always averaged 15 mpg going back
and forth from work. It now averages 16.5 mpg. That’s a 10 percent increase.
I truly didn’t expect such a big change.”
He waited to report his fi ndings until after he had driven the car at least
5,000 miles “to confi rm that the numbers are average and not just a fl uke.”
Virgona also installed AMSOIL 5W-30 in his sister-in-law’s 1996 Dodge Caravan
with a 3.0 litre V6 engine. She had always used conventional motor oil with
regular oil changes every 3,000 miles, Virgona said.
“Nonetheless, she had a signifi cant amount of sludge that was obvious under
the oil cap,” he said. “She also experienced a very loud lifter noise that would
come and go with the engine either hot or cold. Presumably the sludge was affecting
the oil circulation to the lifters.”
Oil consumption in the van was increasing, using about one quart every 1,500
to 2,000 miles.
“I switched her to AMSOIL and put in a new fi lter,” Virgona said. “Within
1,000 miles the lifter noise was all but gone. By 3,000 miles, virtually all
the sludge was gone. I drained and refi lled the oil a second time with AMSOIL
5W-30. The oil consumption is now down to one quart every 3,000 miles, with
no more lifter noise. And, except for a little yellow varnish, all the sludge
is gone.
“I am very happy with AMSOIL and plan to use it from now on. I recommend it
to anyone who wants a great synthetic oil.”
Virgona just had a case shipped to his father-in-law in Florida because he
believes in AMSOIL products, he said, and wants others to experience their benefi
ts. In fact, he’s considering becoming a Dealer. The more I read the more I
realized AMSOIL was the best ‘true’ synthetic I could buy.

Better Fuel Mileage
Better Fuel Economy
Fuel economy is becoming more important with each passing year. Gas and diesel prices keep rising, putting a major strain on businesses that rely on vehicles and heavy equipment in their daily operations. AMSOIL synthetic lubricants improve fuel economy by allowing moving parts to move more freely, using less energy and creating less friction than when conventional lubricants are used.
The use of AMSOIL synthetic motor oil, gear lubes and transmission fluids can have a profound impact on fuel economy. Industry tests demonstrate an average conservative decrease in fuel consumption by two to five percent by switching to synthetic lubricants. Many AMSOIL customers report even larger gains in fuel economy.
